Our approach
Our critical care and intensive care units have been designed and equipped to handle the most challenging of cases. To facilitate this, 5 out of 30 beds in our hospital are dedicated to critical care and intensive care patients.
Backed by the latest in technology, our team of specialist doctors and highly trained nurses following international protocol of nursing care, are at hand to cater to the needs of patients requiring support for instability, compromised airway or respiratory system (ventilator support), acute renal failure, cardiac arrhythmias, or are suffering from effects of multiple organ failure also known as multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. This wing also includes patients who are recovering from critical surgeries and require constant monitoring.
The wider multidisciplinary team which bolsters the efforts of the core team includes dedicated critical care pharmacists, dieticians, a team of physiotherapists, medical microbiologists, and symptom control teams.
The ICU facilities at BOSH include:
- A sophisticated airflow system throughout to protect patients with compromised immune systems or those who are vulnerable to infection
- Nursing stations inside ICU so patients can be monitored and cared for without being disturbed
- Sophisticated lighting which can be dimmed along with offering a choice of different colors to suit individual patient needs
These highly specialised services offered by the highly meticulous and organized team at BOSH enables improved outcome of cases with regard to mortality rates, length of stay and infection rates.
